This mill was so close to the downtown homes. We got there before the rest of the crowd did. We did get a little too close as we think about it now.....the mill had been abandoned and huge flames were shooting out all the windows....too close to these houses.....This was a very hot shot....literally!
Sometimes, my life, just becomes consumed with family and my teaching life, so if you don't see me once in a while posting a photo be patient, I will be back :)
Please enjoy my blog if you're a new visitor!
Let me know what you think. I will appreciate any comments you'd like to leave :)
@Judy: I was just barely onto a neighbor, to the mill's, lawn.....Surprising the other house did not catch any.
@Florence: I'd say they were brave and up here it's mostly volunteer.
@Julie: Surprisingly they did.
@Ralph Jones: Thanks Ralph :)
@don: Thanks Don....I appreciate your comments :)
@Tracy: One firefighter almost got stuck inside looking for kids that he thought were still inside. But he got the wrong information.
@Denise: You are right....it was a hot fire....it took a few days of round-the-clock fire duty to watch this fire go out.
@Denise: Honestly....I was getting tired of these people from Colorado who have a domain name the same as mine harassing me. What it came down to was that they wanted anyone who searched lambspun to see their name pop up on the first 100 googled pages not mine and they kept threatening me that they'd take me to court. I told them that McDonald's chain hamburgers didn't go to court and make all the other McDonald's in the US change their names just because it was their name of their business. I haven't heard back from them yet. Every where I go they catch up with me somehow but especially on this site.
@B. Thomas: I know.....Lambpun of Colorado....they sell wool and knitting supplies....I could have probably liked them and bought things through them but they have a big ego and they are threatened just because I have the same name....not a domain name like them either. I have had my name probably much longer than they have. I used to work for America Online when they first opened online and need community members to volunteer time to clean up the chat rooms and keep order in them. I was a Guide and worked for them for 6 years. I had the name then.
@Chris: Nerve wracking and totally a big surprise!
@ordinaryimages: ...It was arson but police never found the people who did it. Although, half the townspeople seem to think they knew who did it.......small town....people always know who did it before the police.
@StarCosmosBleu: Thanks Star :)
@Denise: Why thank you Denise.....besides....I had it first....At least 14 years earlier!!
@gautam: Thanks gautam :)
